Now that the Joint Meetings are over, the next step in your job search is probably a campus interview. We've run lots of stories in the past with advice for going on these always stressful and sometimes fun-filled adventures. Last year we had a couple of people blog about their searches (one from each side of the table.) Instead of making you search the archives (always an option with our search page), I'll put a bunch of links to particularly good posts after the jump...

| A few years back, Chawne and I organized a panel specifically about the campus interview process. The notes from that event are here
David Mazur organized a different panel on interviewing in general, including advice from our very own Jackie Jensen. Those notes are here
Former Managing Editor Kevin Charlwood wrote about phone interviews and included a great list of questions he'd been asked and ones he asked of prospective employers.
Last year we had users who posted blogs about their searches. From the employer side, we had nowhiring's stories about budget woes and ad writing. From the employee side, we had jobhunter08's reflections on the hiring process. [side note: we'd love to have more people blog about this year's search, anonymously, of course]
Finally, an anonymous contributor mentioned a couple of innovative ways to find out info on a school.
Any other great advice out there about interviews? Post links in the comments! |
