Our search is in a holding pattern right now, waiting to complete campus interviews. In the mean time, I did a little digging regarding what sort of salary we should be offering our top candidate. Data on the flip side...

| Two great places to find such data are the Annual Survey of the Mathematical Sciences (a co-production of the AMS, ASA, IMS, MAA, and SIAM) and the CUPA-HR annual surveys (it stands for College and University Professional Association for Human Resources).
Here's the numbers that might be most useful to all of you out there applying for jobs:
