Besides being Pi Day (3/14), it is also Albert Einstein's Birthday.

There are stories around the Young Mathematician's Network site about pi, a Pi Day 2005 Diary Entry, a Pi Day 2005 Story and another story about Pi Day 2004, if you can find more please post them in the comments section so others can see.
