There's an interesting opportunity for young PhDs to get some mentoring before heading off to teach at non-doctoral granting institutions. There's also a component for undergrads bridging into grad school.

2006 Nebraska IMMERSE
The Department of Mathematics at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln invites applications for early-career faculty positions for the 2006 Nebraska IMMERSE (Intensive Mathematics: A Mentoring, Education and Research Summer Experience) program. This NSF-sponsored program has two interwoven components: one that strengthens the preparation of students who are about to begin graduate study in mathematics ('pre-grads'), and another that develops the teaching, research and mentoring skills of early-career faculty at non-doctoral-granting mathematics departments and of graduate students. The 2006 program will run from June 28th through August 9th for the pre-grads and from June 14th through August 9th for the early-career faculty.
Applicants for the early-career faculty positions must be U.S. citizens, nationals, or permanent residents currently employed in non-doctoral-granting mathematics departments and should have earned their PhDs no earlier than January 1, 1999. These participants will receive room, board, a travel allowance and a $10,000 stipend. In addition, their home institutions will receive $7500 to allow for the early-career faculty to have release time from teaching to do research and to prepare for the IMMERSE program. Applications should be received by October 1, 2005, with notification by October 15th. For application instructions and more information about IMMERSE visit the Nebraska MCTP website or email the program director, Prof. Allan Donsig, at adonsig@math.unl.edu
