We reported that the Association of University Teachers in the United Kingdom had voted to boycott certain Israeli universities.

A special council meeting of the AUT has now reversed this decision, after widespread member outrage at this decision.

After the original decision was made, opponents of the boycott collected signatures in order to force a special meeting to discuss the issue again.

Local associations held meetings to determine what action to take; these were reported as being overwhelmingly in favour of not complying with any boycott. It has been claimed that somewhere between 2/3 and 4/5 of the votes cast at the special meeting were against the boycott.
