It appears that April 2005 is Mathematics Awareness Month. The theme of this year is "Mathematics and the Cosmos".

There's a nice poster on their website, and some essays on how "[m]athematics is at the core of our attempts to understand the universe at every level". They also have a useful links section, and an events list.
