Sometimes I wish I were really interested in weather. There are so many great websites dedicated to weather, where you can find up-to-date news related to all weather phenomenon anywhere in the world. I would never be at a loss to satiate my interests. Unfortunately I'm interested in mathematics, where it's next to impossible to find a single website that keeps me in-the-know on the current events of the field. So, a couple years ago, myself and a couple others started Mathforge.net, where we began posting, Slashdot-style, all of the information and news we found from around the web concerning mathematics. Our focuses circle around 'the big stories'-- new proofs, awards, etc, along with software releases, new websites, books, and anything else we run across.

If it sounds interesting to you, please stop by. If you have your own website or software you'd like to share with the world, then submit a story to us. Or if you've encountered an interesting paper or theory, then we'd certainly enjoy hearing about it as well.
