New Business
I. Ideas for YMN in Baltimore in January, 2003.
(Meetings will be Wed. Jan. 15 - Sat. Jan 18 next year.)
A. Town Meeting. To be organized by Dave Kung. We will try something different - splitting attendees up into interest groups, and have a YMN
Board member sit with each group and have discussions. Details to be worked out, but perhaps an undergraduate group, a group of post-docs, a group of new faculty, etc.
B. Panel #1. "An Overview of Interviews" to be co-organized by Dov Chelst and John Vano. Hopefully we can get a time slot on Wed. afternoon to help those going through the AMS Employment Center. Perhaps we will do
some mock interviewing as part of the panel.
C. Panel #2. "Learning to Say No: Managing Your Time Effectively" to be co-organized by J. Lyn Miller and Karri Fogel.
D. YMN/Project NExT Poster Session to be co-organized by Ken Ross and Kevin Charlwood. It was brought out that those new to poster
presentations should visit the following link for details on how to effectively assemble one:
http://www.siam.org/siamnews/general/poster.htm.
