... for we are many."

After I wrote my note on CuriousMath, jvano pointed out that there is another similar (although not scoop-based) site for mathematics: MathForge.

Update [2004-11-12 16:34:44 by overconvergent]: The lead developer of MathForge, Joe Kauzlarich, has kindly pointed out that it is not scoop-based, and that the MathML was implemented using Peter Jipsen's AsciiMathML javascripts.

MathForge has MathML-enabled message-boards, so those with MathML-capable browsers will be able to read the site in a way that should hopefully be more natural for mathematics.

Thanks for the mention of Mathforge. As the lead developer of Mathforge, I'd just like to point out that it is NOT Scoop-based-- we wrote it all from scratch using server-side Java w/ MySQL back-end. As yet, its not as featureful as Scoop. The MathML-enabled message boards were implemented using Peter Jipsen's AsciiMathML javascripts, and we're currently in the process of rethinking the entire site and rewriting all of its code (in JSP & servlets). Thanks, --Joe Kauzlarich
