The end of the month is here, and the end of the year is fast approaching. That may either mean end of the semester activities (for those in academia) or year-end reports (in industry). But it is also the beginning for those applying either for jobs or for graduate school.

This month we have an article from Alan Schoenfeld at UC Berkeley with some comments about tenure and life in academia. There is also an idea on the type of study guide/exam preparation to give students about an upcoming exam. For those of you who may be involved in the graduate school application process (either on the advising or applying side), there is selection of web resources. Best Wishes!
