From a recent article in Education Week : The Bush administration is preparing a campaign to highlight math and science education and improve the way schools teach the subjects. Another interesting quote: [T]he math and science project isn't as well defined at the start because the research on effective math and science practice isn't as conclusive. What do the Math-Ed people out there think?

I couldn't get at the story (didn't bother with the registration), but I wonder if this is part of Bush's "No Child Left Behind" program. I've heard some scarry things about this program (which may or may not be true). Anyone out there have tangable experience with these politics of education?
