The 4th annual Career Mentoring Worskhop (CaMeW) for Women in the mathematical sciences will be held July 18-20, 2010 at The United States Military Academy (West Point, NY). The goals of the workshop are to help inform women finishing their PhDs about different aspects of the job search and different career paths and to introduce them to peers and mentors on whom they can call over the next year (and beyond).
Women who are intending to finish their PhDs next year are encouraged to apply. Funding from the Center for Diversity in West Point's Math Department will provide at least partial funding for all participants.
More information and the application can be found at the website: www.wheatoncollege.edu/camew. The application deadline is May 15th.

[Kudos to my colleague Katherine Socha who works on this project.]

Hi,I am a senior in high school who wants to be a math major for college.
I have the option of chosing between Princeton, MIT, Caltech and Harvard, or a local university that offered me a full ride (and 12K per year for food, clothing, etc.)

Now that the Joint Meetings are over, the next step in your job search is probably a campus interview. We've run lots of stories in the past with advice for going on these always stressful and sometimes fun-filled adventures. Last year we had a couple of people blog about their searches (one from each side of the table.) Instead of making you search the archives (always an option with our search page), I'll put a bunch of links to particularly good posts after the jump...

Some folks at UC-Davis have set up a site where job candidates can find out (and post) the status of a bunch of institutions' searches.
There are two parts, the teaching list and the research list. (We're not sure how they draw the distinction...)
