As many of you hopefully know, the Young Mathematicians Network (along with Project NExT and the MAA) helped to organize a
series of panels at MathFest 2004 in Providence (specifically this was part of their Graduate Program). Many of these panels pertained to the (in)famous topic of the job hunt (e.g. Choosing the Right Job for You, Tips on Interviewing, etc.).
Traditionally YMN has focused on panels at the Jan Joint Meetings, however this is a new MathFest venue seems to be an even more ideal time for those PhD-epsilon students to start preping for their job hunt. As such, the YMN is in the process of organizing a similar set of panels for MathFest 2005. To serve you better, we are asking for your help.
Are you are interested in helping plan/run one of these panels? Do you have ideas for what a good panel would be? Did you attended the MathFest 2004 panels and have feedback? Are you are a soon to be PhD-epsilon who has questions or ideas about how a program like this could serve you better? If your answer is yes to any of the above, PLEASE post your ideas/suggestions/comments/etc here.
Thanks!
N.B. Soon to be appearing on this very site are summaries from the MathFest 2004 panels, so stay tuned!

As it has in past years the Chronicle of Higher Education is looking for people to write about their experiences on the job market and get paid for their troubles.
A lot of the faculty who write are from the humanities. It would be nice to see a mathematician. You can read their request for submissions here here.

[editor's note, by dkung] We ran this story two years ago, but it's that time of the year again ...
Here's what to expect to happen on a
campus interview, what one should do during the interview and how to
negotiate a deal once the offer is on the table.
