The Joint Committee on Employment Opportunities(JCEO) is looking to compile a list of all helpful websites with information on conducting a job search in mathematics.

The panel "Tenure (and Promotion): You know you want it" was on the Sunday of the Joint Math Meetings (Jan 6) at 9 a.m.
Panelists were:
Steven Krantz, American Institute of Mathematics
Mike Orrison, Harvey Mudd College
Kate McGiveny, Shippensburg University
The panel was organized by James Hamblin, Shippensburg University and Kim Roth, Juniata College.
Henry Escaudro, Juniata College, took notes on the panel which you can read in the full story.

You can apply to become a Congressional Fellow
and work for a year on Capitol Hill, with your
salary paid by the AMS (over 60,000 USD) to
assist a lawmaker in making decisions and policy.
The deadline is January 31st. I attended
a presentation at the Joint Math Meetings and
was impressed with the program and the opportunity.

The Casualty Actuarial Society is once again accepting applications for its scholarship program for college students pursuing a career in actuarial science. The CAS Trust Scholarship program, funded by donations to the CAS Trust, will award up to three $1,500 scholarships to deserving students for the 2008-2009 academic year

Information on DIMACS Reconnect Conference 2007 has been released. The information is here with a focus this year on Data Analysis in Law Enforcement and Homeland Security. The Conference runs from July 29 to August 4, 2007.
Many members of the Young Mathematicians Network have gone to the Reconnect Workshops in the past and have found value in the conferences. They are designed for current math professors looking to get involved in new areas of research.
