Some folks at UC-Davis have set up a site where job candidates can find out (and post) the status of a bunch of institutions' searches.

There are two parts, the teaching list and the research list. (We're not sure how they draw the distinction...)

YMN/NExT Poster Session Career

The YMN/Project NExT poster session at the Joint Math Meetings in San Francisco will be held from 2:15 to 4:15 Wednesday Jan. 12th in Room 3001, 3rd Floor, Moscone.

The abstracts for the poster presenters can be found at http://www.youngmath.net/Documents/2010/Posters/ymnabstracts2010.pdf

Come and see some cool math from some early career mathematicians.

I have to choose between two alternatives: one is accepted into PhD program at Courant without funding, another is a TA position with a 20-30 ranking school.

Math Overflow --- a site to ask mathematics research questions Research

A new website, Math Overflow, for asking and answering mathematics research questions has been launched; it uses the Stack Overflow software. Recent questions range from "Which mathematicians have influenced you the most?" to "What is the exact statement of "there are 27 lines on a cubic"?".
