[new] St. Olaf's Budapest Semesters in Mathematics (none / 0) (#4)

I did not go to Budapest, but one of my students went last year and another will be going this coming Winter. I recommend it for anyone considering graduate school in math. It will give you some exposure to doing only math for a long period of time at an advanced level. If you are coming from a small liberal arts college it is an especially valuable experience, since most small colleges can only offer a limited number of advanced math classes.

I have been told that getting accepted is fairly routine, but not everyone will be accepted immediately. If you are a very strong student, you will probably be accepted immediately. Other students may not be accepted until the last minute, but most serious applications are accepted. In fact, I know of no one who was turned down by the Budapest programs.

If you do a web search for Budapest math, you should find it pretty quickly. The link is http://www.stolaf.edu/depts/math/budapest/.

I hope that answers your questions.
