My thinking is that these links should link to important resources that are connected with the various section (e.g. for the news section have link to the news pages on the MAA, AMS, SIAM, etc sites) or the links should be places where there are regular stories which pertain to that section.

I'm going to try to organize determine what links to put in each section by using the threaded nature of comments.  So I'm going make a reply to this comment for each of our current sections:

Front Page, News, Grad Life, Undergrad Life, Job Search, Career, Work & Family, Teaching, Research, Diaries, Misc, Paths to Math, All

and then under these comments add each potential link for that section as a comment (by keeping each link a seperate comment in theory we could use the rating mechanism to determine which order the links should appear)...
