[new] Other places (none / 0) (#5)

Many industrial places reguarly look for summer hires. They may not have the room and board stipends that REUs offer, but they have ways to make up for it. Also, these companies may not have a bunch of "mathematics" positions, but they are interested in the problem-solving skills that we mathematicians posess. My company, MITRE, sets up a list of employees that are willing to rent a room for a summer student at (for this area) very decent rates. Email me (using my username at youngmath.net) if you are interested.

Unfortunately the deadline has passed, but NSA has a decent number of summer programs. Check out http://www.nsa.gov/programs/employ/csp.cfm for more info.
